We’ve helped keep hundreds of toes nice and warm over winter by donating 200 pairs of socks as part of our partner’s, Village Hotels, Sock it to Winter campaign.

Following Village Hotels’ successful Hope for a Coat campaign in 2019, where we collected almost 500 coats and winter accessories, the hotel chain wanted to do another winter collection for 2021/2022.

The campaign launched in December with a target to collect 10,000 pairs of new socks for the homeless. Our Community Team spread the word, set up drop-off points in their offices and, despite limited staff in the office, managed to get together 200 pairs.

Jamie Hunter, Director of Business Development and VWorks, and Cath Arnold-Haigh, National Account Manager, collected these from our Head Office in Derby in January. The items collected will be donated to local charities, such as Derbyshire Doorways, in Derby.

“When our partners at Village Hotels initially shared their mission to collect 10,000 pairs of socks, we wanted to get involved - just like the Hope for a Coat campaign. We are proud to support initiatives like this, especially when we can see the value it gives to the communities local to where our people work,” said Kirsty Given, who heads up Agiito’s Community Team.

Cath Arnold-Haigh, National Account Manager for Village Hotels, explained: “We felt so humbled by the donations from the last campaign and could see the impact it made, which is why we wanted to launch another campaign over winter. We are overwhelmed to see how our partners have pulled together in such little time and gained the donations they have. I am grateful for the support of Agiito’s employees and look forward to working alongside them on future initiatives.”
