Sharing the winter warmth with Village Hotels

We have donated over 50 warm accessories and over 30 brand new toys as part of Village Hotels' Winter Warmer collection campaign.

Over the last month, our people have donated sackfuls of winter accessories and toys into our offices and local Village Hotels for people in need over this festive season. Village Hotels are working with local charities to their hotels as well as homeless charity, Crisis, who will distribute the items nationwide.

“For those people in our local communities who don’t have a safe place to call home the cold winter months are the hardest time of year – especially during the current cost of living crisis where Christmas is something they simply can't afford,” explained Kirsty Given. “We have been getting involved with these appeals every year and knowing we are contributing in some way gives us the festive feel-good factor. We wanted to support local families in partnership with Village Hotels and help Santa reach children living in poverty this Christmas.”

Following the successful Hope for a Coat and Sock it to Winter campaigns, this is the third collection we have supported Village Hotels with since they started in 2019.

“We wanted to make the most of the reach our hotels have and get everyone who comes to our hotels, whether it be leisure club members or commercial partners like Agiito, involved. We‘ve done a lot of work with local charities and see where we can have the biggest impact. These campaigns have evolved so much since we started four years ago, we will help an estimated 10,000 people this winter, and I believe this has never been more important,” said Faye Capenerhurst, National Account Manager at Village Hotels.

This collection is just one of the four Christmas collections the Agiito team have been contributing to in December. Their people have also been spreading the love by donating personalised boxes for the Belper Christmas Shoebox Appeal, aimed at adults who are living in care homes or are alone at Christmas.

The Community Team used some of their funds to help a local family in need so the children can enjoy Christmas, referred by the Revive Healthy Living Centre Secret Santa appeal. They also arranged for their old work mobile phones to be donated to Revive Healthy Living Centre, who are supporting vulnerable people.
