Our team have kicked-off their latest fundraising campaign, raising £1,065 for The Trussell Trust – 1/5 of the overall target in the very first event!

Hosted by our partner, Devere Wokefield Estate, 15 members from our events department organised the first fundraising activity: a half-marathon charity hike through the woodlands of Wokefield, Berkshire on 26 July.

As part of our commitment to supporting local communities, employees nominated their preferred charities, which were put to a vote. Considering the current cost of living crisis, the decision was made to support The Trussell Trust and the fantastic work they do in working towards a UK in fighting poverty.

“Following the fundraising success of the Macmillan partnership in 2022, we knew the impact our collaborative efforts made and how it also bought us closer together as a team through these activities,” said Kirsty Given, Director of Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability.

“This year, we set ourselves an ambitious target of raising £5,000. However, we want to extend the social impact further by doing more than just donating money, so we are also donating our time and co-ordinating food collections – which will be just as valuable in providing meals for those in need and creating a future where nobody goes hungry. We will also bolster this by fundraising for selected, smaller localised causes which are close to the hearts of our people regionally across the UK.”

The £1,065 raised is equivalent to funding 40 hours of financial resilience advice at one of The Trussell Trust’s food banks, but every £50 supports with vital food supplies for local communities.

Samantha Stapley, Chief Operating Officer at the Trussell Trust said: “Thank you to the team at Agiito for their incredible support. Ultimately, no one in the UK should need a food bank – all of us should have enough money for the essentials like food, clothing and heating. The support of Agiito will help food banks within our network continue to provide that lifeline of emergency support, while we work together in the long term to ensure everyone can afford the essentials, like food. Thank you so much.”
